The result was loss of vehicle usage on three separate service dates totaling 15 days. The reason for several service dates was caused by the gps software and the inability to not only download the gps update to the 'infotainment' system, but in the process, it caused damage to the entire 'infotainment' system; including, navigation features, the hands-free use of ones' cell phone, voice commands, and radio/entertainment systems, as well. The electronic damage required the repeated replacement (3) of the entire 'infotainment' system when GMC determined that the gps update software was the problem. While one would expect GMC to immediately correct the problem, it has now been three years since the vehicle was manufactured with a gps system that cannot be updated. To date, GMC has been unable to provide a gps update; only emails apologizing for the inconvenience with unreliable moving target dates stating when the update will be available.
